A narrow, restricted airpath creates a tight, mouth-to-lung draw that concentrates vapor in a smaller volume of air. This tends to intensify flavor perception in a similar way that smelling a perfume in a small room feels stronger than smelling it outdoors. A wider, more open airpath creates a looser, direct-to-lung draw that dilutes the vapor with a larger volume of air per puff, spreading the flavor across a broader draw.
Mouthpiece diameter reinforces this effect: a narrow drip tip channels vapor to a small area of the tongue, while a wider one distributes it across more of the palate.
